What to bring with you to your Pilates session

 

Please wear comfortable clothing that gives the instructor an indication of your body shape. Bring a bottle of water and sweat towel big enough to cover your torso and thighs. Each group class participant should bring their own mat along with them. If it is your first session you would need to bring your completed application form along with you, this form will be emailed to you on request.

 

Training times and sessions

 

Private and duet sessions: Our Pilates-based technique requires that you train at least once a week on a regular basis. We require 30 days notice to change/terminate these time slots. 

 

Group classes: To maintain our high teaching standards, we limit the number of matwork group class participants to 12 participants. At Mint Pilates Wellness we require you to have at least 1 assessment session and Depending on your condition of health and body awareness, you may require a number of private sessions before we can integrate you into a group class. 

 

For your own safety, if you have any health related issues or are currently injured and or are recovering from an injury/operation you would need to be cleared by our biokineticist prior to partaking in the orientation and or group classes. Missed appointments and client absences

 

To provide you with the best quality Pilates session, our teaching schedule and sessions are "booked out" and planned well in advance. Clients will be charged for all missed appointments or absences with the option of a "make-up" session within the same month. These sessions are not guaranteed but we will try our very best to accommodate you where possible.

 

Group classes are designed around the participants, so booking your class is essential.  Classes should be cancelled online (Boxchamp) or via email 24 hours ahead of time. All sessions should be used within the same month. Unless by special arrangement, no sessions can be carried over from one month to the other.

 

These terms and conditions are in line with other services such as academic and dancing schools, personal training, and music and language lessons.

 

Studio closures

 

The studio runs through school holidays, and is generally closed on public holidays. End of year break- Due to the studio closing mid December and opening during the second week of January, all clients are advised to attend “make up” or “extended-90minute” sessions before and after the Christmas and New year’s holidays. Your full monthly rate will be charged of over this period. 

 

Punctuality

 

In fairness to all our clients, we keep strictly to session times. We cannot extend your session if you are late. We ask that you arrive in time to change and begin your own gentle warm-up before your session. If you attend a class, please be sure to arrive 7 to 10 minutes before the class commences. All appointments last between 45-50minutes. We can specially customise your session to last 30 minutes if need be and of course there will be a rate adjustment. 

 

Termination of training

 

Except in exceptional circumstances, as agreed by both instructor and client, we require '1 calendar month's’ notice when terminating/downgrading of your training package. We would appreciate everybody's co-operation with this so that we can accurately budget for the month ahead. 

 

Attire and studio hygiene

 

Due to our hands-on method, please wear comfortable clothing that allows us to see your body clearly. The cleanliness of our studio and equipment is our priority. We would be grateful if you let us know if, at any time, we do not shape up in this regard. As a courtesy to other clients and to our instructors, we ask that you wipe down the studio equipment after using it. Please make personal hygiene, particularly clean feet, a similar priority. Thank you for your understanding in this sensitive matter.

 

Mobile phones

 

Please leave all mobile phones on Silent, in the locker. Except in the case of emergency, mobile phones are not allowed on the mats. Should you need, under these exceptional circumstances, to bring your mobile phone to the mat, it must be on Silent and answered outside the studio.

 

Indemnity

 

Please advise your instructor before commencing your class or session if, for any reason, your ability to exercise has changed or you have taken up a new physical activity that could affect your ability to train. Our technique and exercises are very safe, but, as with all forms of exercise, it is prudent to consult with your doctor before exercising. Our classes and sessions are not a substitute for medical counselling or treatment. So if you have any doubts about your health or exercise abilities, refer to your medical practitioner or enquire through our Biokineticist (Leanne van den Berg) whether it is safe or not to participate in our sessions. If we work with you to rehabilitate injury or illness, we require written consent to perform Pilates from your medical practitioner.

 

Rates

Please note that all fees are payable upfront for the month and due before the 1st of each month. We can only secure your booking on receipt of payment for your full month's fees. 

Please note that sessions cannot be carried over from one month to the other.

Any packages bought must be used within the same month alternatively we can charge you a "pro-rata" rate.

Please note that we require 1 calendar month's notice when downgrading or terminating your training package.
