WHO WE ARE

About our Studio

Our studio is situated in the beautiful town of Durbanville, Cape Town and was established in 2008 by Founder and Owner Bianca Oppel. 
We offer classes of varying intensities to accommodate all fitness levels, with a great variety to challenge your body in different ways.  We have created a space for you to relax your mind and engage your body. Our studio is spacious and offers beautiful views of the studio garden. Our quality equipment is kept clean and hygienic.

Beginners

The class intensity is low, focusing on Pilates fundamentals such as breath, pelvic and spinal alignment, mobilizing our joints safely and building core strength.

Beginner - Intermediate - Moderate Intensity​

The class intensity is moderate, with a continued focus on the core principles of Pilates. This class level aims to challenge your endurance and coordination whilst improving your balance and core strength.

Intermediate - Advanced - High Intensity​

The class intensity is high with a focus on more advanced Pilates exercises. The class will challenge your endurance, stability and flexibility and will move and flow at a faster pace overall.

Mixed Ability - Moderate Intensity Suitable For All Levels

The class intensity is moderate. Exercise adjustments can be made in order to suit the needs of the individuals. The class focuses on mobility and challenging strength. This class level is appropriate for pre-natal and postnatal mothers.

Reformer Fit

Suitable for all levels of fitness but not appropriate for individuals who have orthopedic concerns. The class’s intensity is high with a focus on building strength and cardiovascular fitness. You can expect a mixture of skipping / running with bosu balls with classical core/ upper and lower body exercises on the reformer.

At Mint we offer reformer and mat combo group classes for up to 10 people at a time. Every class is packed with a variety of different challenges suitable to the class level. We incorporate from smaller Pilates apparatus to the bigger Pilates equipment such as the reformer. We take great care in preparing a well balanced, creative and mindful session for every class. Our instructors are well trained and professional and will help take very good care of your needs.

Reformer Classes:
Our signature Reformer classes utilise specialised equipment to provide a full-body workout that builds strength, improves flexibility, and enhances overall fitness.​

Group Classes: Join a dynamic group setting and experience the camaraderie and motivation of working out with others in our small group Pilates classes.

Private / semi-private & family classes: For personalised attention and tailored instruction, we offer private Pilates sessions with our experienced instructors. Private training timeslots can be scheduled depending on availability.

    As “old crocks” in our mid 60’s the wife and I decided to try Pilates. My wife suffers from Scleroderma and I have had back problems for s number of years. After less than 6 months, all I can say is “what a difference” Of course there is no cure to Scleroderma but my wife is much stronger, can get down and up off the matt without help and her joints are more flexible.And as for myself, I can go for an hours walk along the streets and get home with no back discomfort at all. I have not had an ounce of back problem for nearly 4 months and as Pilates strengthens my core so any chance of backache disappears into the distant past. If I had known 3 years ago what I now know I would never have waited do long to put myself into Bianca’s hand.

      Well I like to say that a Wednesday at 6 at Mint Condition studio is my little piece of heaven.Since discovering the benefits of pilates, my life has changed quite a bit. I first started with pilates in a gym, in a class environment, which worked pretty well at the time because the instructor kind of gave me the extra attention that I required. I guess that I should enlighten you to the fact that I have a disability – cerebral palsy. For those who are not aware, it is a disability which affects people differently. I am one of the very fortunate, I only have to deal with stiff muscles and this is irritated by the cold or stress and effort of getting around.Since starting my one-on-one classes at Mint Condition, I have been able to manage my stress more effectively and am also able to move with more ease as my range of movement has increased. I really just want the ability to move with more ease and I know that I am getting just that, and more from my sessions. Oh, and being a woman, we all want beautiful bodies, and I can see the changes. So that is a bonus.
